Image Award Presented to the Town of Stuckey

The Williamsburg HomeTown Chamber presented the Image Award for August to the Town of Stuckey, which was charted in 1953. Mayor Willie Brown, very appreciative of the award, notes that he and the town council work diligently to help the 280 local residents and to strive to be a community of service. Mayor Brown bragged about his council and noted that they are dedicated to being fiscally responsible and are constantly looking for opportunities for their town. Presently, the town is re-submitting a proposal for a water project for the Henry community, as well as waiting for the new EMS Station that is to be built across from the Town Hall. Stuckey is excited to have the new EMS station as it will provide better emergency care to citizens between Kingstree and Hemingway.

The Town of Stuckey promotes and sponsors annual litter cleanups. A few years back they were one of the local towns that participated in a Palmetto Pride Cleanup. The town received some funding for their efforts, and in turn, upgraded the shrubbery around the welcome signs. Mr. Brown believes it’s important to keep their town clean and safe. Earlier this month the town also sponsored a Back to School Event which was supported by residents and businesses. Mayor Brown takes his job seriously and expects a bright future for the town of Stuckey.
